Works in Progress

The most important work in progress is 16 weeks old. I can 't believe I am ONLY almost halfway through this pregnancy- I feel like I've been pregnant FOREVER. Part of this feeling I think comes from actually trying for the baby this time around, it took 7 looooong months after the miscarriage to have a positive test and I still an freaked out that something is going to go wrong. But so far, so good. Four weeks until we find out if I will remain the only female in the house. People keep asking which way I am leaning- I have no opinion. I don't want to want either sex because I don't want to be disappointed. BUT I will say that I have been drawn to 'girly' things and I have an entire nursery in my head that is totally for a girl and yet I can't nail down a girl's name that I love.....

Other works include some embroidery projects I am sending to Australia as part of a swap. Australia is insane in terms of what they will let you send people! So many restrictions, which makes sense from an isolated environmental standpoint I suppose, but sheesh how do folks send christmas presents?! I do think the US could learn a thing or two from the keeping foreign substance out but I definitely like being able to send leaves through the US Mail.....

Knitting wise I am working on a stripey cotton tee for the baby. I am using random bits of Knitpicks Swish and Comfy and just randomly striping. It is almost done, and is partially purple- so maybe I am hoping for a girl more than I say I am....

I am also working on some overalls and another bulky blankie for our farm auction in november....

i will share once it is in the hands of the giftee- it's not like your fancy stuff though that's for sure. it really should read "embroidery" as it is really just embellishments and appliques....
I am trying to get better because if the tadpole is a girl I have big ideas for this felt dove garland (featured in the better home and gardens craft winter craft magazine i picked up on a whim at walmart....)

Hey, anything that requires stitching is fancy, in my book! haha It sounds cool, whatever it is!

One of my hypothetical to-do projects this winter (if I ever get done with all the other projects I keep starting and not finishing) is to try some applique/embroidery on onesies...never done that before. I should probably practice on some old t-shirts first so I don't mess it up when it comes time for the real thing, though -- my sewing stitches get a little, um, uneven.

Your project sounds exciting Regina! I'm very much looking forward to seeing what you think of your parcel ♥

I apologise again for my country's strict postal code regulations! However I really do understand AND appreciate them. We have had numerous introduced flora and fauna species over the many years since we've been 'colonised'. These have often been innocent introductions and have had catastrophic effects on our environment. Thanks for understanding.

Lovely to read another baby update. I hope you're feeling great. You sound so excited! Such a wonderful time in your family's life. Thank you for sharing.

Dear Regina,
Thank you so much for visiting my blog, I am looking forward to your photos:)

I have added a note on my blog about Pennyroyal, just that it is an excellent insect repellent if planted around tomatoes and strawberries. Pennyroyal is not edible and should not be planted around pets. You can read more here: http://naturalsuburbia.blogspot.com/2011/08/jasmine-green-leaves-and-spotted-eggs.html

Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention:)

Take care
Linda
